The Make Your Mark with a tenner activity proved to be a huge success producing an inspirational number of budding entrepeneurs!

 

A total of 7 judges including 2 New Mills Business Network members, David Hudsmith and Chris Parrack, were involved in the final judging of the best three teams from each school.

Dragon JudgingIdeas to raise money and have an impact on social enterprise ranged from raffles to producing personalised mugs, keyrings, greetings cards, pets made from rocks and organising Body Shop parties and band concerts. At the last count profits in excess of £1,500 had been made which will go to benefit various charities.

 

After much deliberation 3 teams came out on top although all who took part were winners.

  • Rebekah & Katie Promotions from Furness Vale Primary School
  • Bate Mill team from Thornsett Primary School
  • Body Shop from New Mills School Business & Enterprise College

 

Make Your Mark WinnersAll judges agreed that the standard was extermely high and very impressive. The students not only gained an immense amount of enjoyment from the initiative but learned much about the world of business and social enterprise - watch out for the businessmen and women of the future!
